Although this community pub is neither one of London's Real Heritage Pubs nor a listed building, it is famous for being saved from conversion to residential by a local campaign supported by CAMRA.

It continues to serve locals of all shapes and sizes and is included on the Evening Crawl of Hampstead (August 2013) for these reasons.
