This pub, dating back to 1964 was designed by the notable architect, Raymond Erith and built by GE Wallis and Sons on the site of a previous public house of the same name. The design of the pub mimics the syle of an eighteenth century coaching inn.
It was a scandal that this iconic listed pub was allowed to be converted to flats and a gym.
The pub was built on the site of a previous pub of the same name, albeit in a different style.
Jack Straw's Castle is featured on the LPGs Evening Crawl of Hampstead in August 2013.
