Alexandra Hotel
203 Siddals RoadDerby
DE1 2QE
Although this pub is not a listed building, it is, according to Real Ale in Derby, “named after the Danish princess who married the then Prince of Wales (Edward VII) in 1863 when the ‘Alex’ was still the Midland Coffee House. The gothic exterior remains, but the sign that once advertised Shipstones Ales has gone. Abandoned in 1988 and rescued from demolition by Bateman’s, it is now owned by Castle Rock.”
The Alexandra Hotel features on the Rams, Rails and Real Ales: Daytime Pub Tour of Derby on 25 March 2023.
