Bollo

13 Bollo Lane
Acton Green
W4 5LR

Although this pub is neither a listed building nor on CAMRA’s National Inventory, it is a Victorian street-corner Greene King local with an attractive green-tiled façade. It was built in 1885 as the Railway Tavern and was renamed the Bollo House in 2000. The interior has been completely opened out but a three-bay section of the bar-back with a pleasing coved cornice, the bar counter front and some extensive wooden paneling remain, albeit now stripped and scrubbed. The rear area has an impressive fireplace and a circular skylight. Note the black-and-white photographs of the former London Transport Chiswick bus works, now redeveloped as the Chiswick Park business complex.

This pub is the official lunch stop but food is also served at the first pub on the tour and at the next pub, the Swan.
