Good Samaritan

87 Turner Street
Whitechapel
E1 2AE

Like the Culpeper, this pub is not a listed building nor on CAMRA’s Inventory and it is not locally listed. However, also like the Culpeper, it has a great Truman’s exterior but the interior has been completely opened out and modernised. CAMRA’s WhatPub entry says: “Classic Trumans interwar pub, built in 1937. Later Grand Met, S&N Retail. Had a spell from 1984 as Good Sams, reverting in 1995. Traditional pub well used by staff from the London Hospital, standing room only on peak nights. Patients from the hospital have been known to nip in for a quick drink.”
