Called the White Horse until 1840, the present building dates from 1906. The ground floor has been fitted out recently in a deliberately old-fashioned style with enclosed drinking booths and wooden panelling, typical of the owners, Sam Smith’s. Upstairs is another bar with two wood-panelled eating and drinking areas.
