The One Over the Ait featured on the Ancient and Modern: Daytime Crawl of Brentford, Chiswick and Hammersmith in June 2016.
This new-build chalet-style Fullers pub is situated on the riverside with the eponymous ait (an island in the Thames) further west. Inside it has been fitted out in industrial style with large metal ducts, metal spiral staircase and high metal tables. The furniture by the windows is more traditional. The bar counter is metal-faced and a wooden rowing boat is suspended above it. The bar-back is Spartan but has a quirky collection of vintage radiator ends arranged in the centre dispensing keg beers. Outside there are rainproof chairs and tables all along the ground and first-floor balconies. The upstairs room is used for dining and as a function area. The furniture upstairs is traditional.
