The Black Lion featured on the Evening Crawl of Hammersmith in July 2006, the Billing and Cooing: Daytime Crawl of Earls Court, West Brompton, Fulham and Hammersmith in October 2013, and the Ancient and Modern: Daytime Crawl of Brentford, Chiswick and Hammersmith in June 2016.

Although this pub is not on CAMRA’s London Regional Inventory it is a grade II listed building and the listing description is as follows: “Late 18th century. Much altered. Three storeys, three windows. Brick, stuccoed and painted. Later c19 window and 2 doors to ground floor. Recessed sashes, some glazing bars. Tiled roof. Later single storey, two windows, extension to the north. Interior modernised.”

Although the interior has been modernised as the listing description mentions, it does feature older wood panelling. One of the great things about the pub is that it revived the use of its skittle alley a few years ago.
