This pub is not a listed building, but it is on the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Local Inventory as having an interior of Local Historic Interest, and the description is as follows: "The pub has quite an impressive facade which may date from about 1880. Internally the distinguishing feature is the wall-panelling which dates from an inter-war refit. It consists mostly of sheer panels with two-inch-wide borders filled with marquetry made to look like thin geological strata! Most unusual. The servery seems to be modern work."
