Green Man

36 Riding House Street
Fitzrovia
W1W 7EP

The Green Man has yet to feature on a LPG crawl.

This Victorian pub has what appears to a Lincrusta ceiling; an original counter with fielded panelled frontage, with the design to the left hand side of the counter being slightly more elaborate than that at the front, suggesting that it was originally in a separate room. This is reinforced by the original floor tiling to the left of the pub which would undoubtedly have been a short corridor leading to a further Room or rooms.

A most attractive and distinctive feature is the surviving glazed screening at the back that would have separated the rooms at the front from what would probably been the lounge at the back. This screening features a clock that appears to be in situ, as well as a small head, seemingly of a cherub or some such, just beneath the clock.
