Park Tavern

164 Tollington Park
Finsbury Park
N4 3AJ

This pub is not a listed building, but it is on the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Local Inventory as having an interior of Local Historic Interest, and the description is as follows: "Behind the very nice tiled exterior advertising the Wenlock Brewery of Islington (closed 1962) and some stained glass in the windows is a very traditional two-bar local. The three doorways into the front bar show it must have once been divided up. The counter has been brought back somewhat from an earlier, more forward position. The pub appears to have been given a refit in the interwar period and many of the straightforward but pleasing fittings survive: counter and bar back, an open fireplace, a dumb waiter in the servery (left side), and some slightly unusual radiator surrounds (plainer in the front, public bar area) than the room to the rear. A recent refurbishment has resulted in the restoration of the Wenlock Ales signage."
