This pub is a grade II listed building and the listing description is as follows: “Mid/later C19 terrace of shops and houses with centre The Well and Bucket Public House. Stock brick with stucco eaves cornice, band and blocking course. Band at 2nd floor sill height. Nos 129 to 141 (odd) slate mansard roof with dormers. No 143 (Public House) slate mansard roof with 3 round headed dormers. No 143 has stucco facade, enriched, bracketed eaves cornice and quoins. 3 storeys, 2 windows each, unbarred sashes, all with moulded stucco architraves, those of 2nd floor with labels, 1st floor with pediments. Ground floor has contemporary shop fronts with architrave, cornice and pilasters with end stops and ball finials (some missing). Unusual curved glazing bars to Public House windows. Inside Public House wall covered with ceramic murals of C19.”
