The Chesham Arms recommended for heritage status

Thursday 14 March 2013

In December 2012, we reported that The Chesham Arms was at risk from being converted into flats.

News comes this week, that the London Borough of Hackney have recommended The Chesham Arms is added to their list of non-statutory heritage assets. Should this go through, it would be a huge boost towards keeping this Victorian pub doing what it does best, being a pub.

Not only this, but on Monday, The Chesham Arms was listed as the London Borough of Hackney's first and only Asset of Community Value.

The Save The Chesham group have worked hard to campaign for the pub to remain a pub and have gathered over 400 signatures objecting to planning permission to change the use of the building.

To support the fight to save the pub, add your name to the petition by visiting the Save The Chesham website.
