Cock Inn

Chalk Lane,
Cockfosters,
EN4 9HU

Formerly Cock & Dragon. This is the official lunch stop. If you wish to eat here it is advisable to book a table in advance although they do keep some tables for walk-ins. Although this pub is neither a listed building nor recognised by CAMRA as having an historic pub interior, it is described in Pevsner’s Buildings of England London 4: North as “a characteristic 1930s roadhouse by J C F James for Benskins”. It has a distinctive green pantile roof and clock tower.

The Cock Inn featured on the A King, a Jester and a Bishop: Daytime Crawl of Enfield, Cockfosters and Barnet on 26 February 2011, and the Hark the Herald: Daytime Crawl of Whetstone, Barnet, Cockfosters, Enfield and Winchmore Hill on 22 June 2019.
