Blue Stoops

127-129 Kensington Church Street
Kensington
W8 7LP

Although this pub is neither a listed building nor on CAMRA’s National Inventory, it is recognised by CAMRA in its list of pubs which are Outstanding Conversions and Restorations, and the description is as follows: “Restored to pub use by Allsopp’s Brewery, which has installed beer engines with high ‘swan necks’, allowing the theatrical pumping of ale. The décor is impressive with a spectacular, bright blue ceramic bar counter embossed with the brewery logo and other motifs. The counter is complemented by an eye-catching, elegant bar back, a painted ceiling and floor tiling. There are various memorabilia and a marvellous brewery mirror on the walls. Everything has been realised with considerable care and flair. There are meals all day and a choice of real ales.”

The pub is also included on the tour for the following reasons: 1) for its design which is of a very good quality, therefore making the pub a possible candidate for a future CAMRA Pub Design Award in the ‘Conversion’ category; and 2) for its interesting selection of Allsopp’s beers.
