Arrive: 7.00 PM

Address: The Wrestlers, 98 North Road, Highgate, N6 4AA.

Real ales: Fullers London Pride; St Austell Tribute and two guest beers are usually served here.

Directions to next pub: On leaving the pub, note opposite Highpoint One and Two, two famous modernist blocks of flats by Berthold Lubetkin and Tecton built in 1933-35 and 1938 respectively. Turn left pub and walk down North Road, bearing left at the end into Highgate High Street. Cross over Southwood Lane and continue along Highgate High Street to

2. Duke's Head

Arrive: 7.45 PM.

Address: The Duke's Head, 16 Highgate High Street, Highgate, N6 5JG.

Real ales: Ten handpumps dispense real ale and real cider. Loads of keg craft beers and bottled beers are also available.

Directions to next pub: On leaving the pub, turn left, walk down to the pelican crossing and cross the road. Continue along Highgate High Street and turn left into South Grove. Cross Swains Lane and Bacon Lane, then cross South Grove itself. Continue along the road and bear right into Highgate West Hill, then immediately right again into

Directions to next pub: Retrace your steps to the junction with South Grove, cross South Grove and turn right. Continue along the road to bus stop V and catch a 214 bus (runs every 12 minutes at 04, 16, 28, 40, and 52 minutes past the hour) to the stop named Fortess Road (KJ). Alight from the bus and continue down Fortess Road to the pelican crossing at the junction with Kentish Town Road. Cross over Kentish Town Road to
