Although this pub is not a listed building it has a great story to tell. It is owned by the local community who are the shareholders and known as the Antwerp Arms Association. The pub was designated as an Asset of Community Value on 9 September 2013 and shortly after this it was sold to property developers who indicated that the pub might be put up for sale. The Antwerp Arms Association, with the help of a grant to formulate a business plan, set up a company and opened a bank account. On 5 December 2013 the Association informed the Council that it would make a bid for the pub. To cut a long story short, the Association bought the pub in early April 2015 and after refurbishment the pub reopened at 12 noon on 24 April 2015.
